I wouldn't move to St. Louis if I were you - despite having a supposedly decent music scene, it's really pretty boring here, with judgmental people and not much nightlife. From what I hear, Chicago is a really great place to live...

What if the choice was between NY and LA?
ever thought about moving to Texas? its great down here. Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio are all kickass cities. Its hotter than hell in the summer (seriously) but other than that its pretty fun.

What's your profession Three Drives? May be worth checking out where is a good place for those in your profession.
Although were I looking to move, my main consideration would be wherever has the lowest taxes. So which states have the lowest sales and income tax, folks?

Without a doubt....Washington D.C. It's a 3 hour train ride to New York and a very exciting and dynamic place to live. I've been here 11 years and don't plan on moving anywhere else. (Grew up in Detroit....I love Michigan but would only have a summer home there....too cold to live year round.)
Taha is right, you should seriously consider going to Canada. Been to the west of Canada (Calgary-Vancouver / V. Island).
The point is its much more european than America. I mean their culture is still deeply influenced by european ways of thinking, much more than the Americanw ay of life. They got living cities - in Europe, you will probably be used to see the cities as the center of cultural activity (so to say). Most American cities should not be entered past sunset . Depending on how long you want to stay, Canada might be the better start before moving to America.
And after all, Canada still got Queen Elisabeth as the head of their country. Oh wait, come to think of it - better move to America - Middle, no better South America - South pole - far away !

I second the vote for DC... with one change. Make it the DC *area* I live about 10 min. outside of DC and I have to say it has been one of the greatest places to grow up (aside from the sniper incident... i live in Montgomery County <_<). But it's been great, I highly suggest it.
