Weird graphics problem with AveDesk

Hi,

I've got a queer problem with Avedesk 1.3. Whenever I've got it started, certain programs behave oddly. When I restore the program window and then maximize it, the top part of the window dissapears over the taskbar. It's not a very big problem but it's pretty annoying having to keep dragging it down everytime I resize the window. The docklets I've got running are:

Avescripter OSX Volume

Avescripter Calendar

Avescripter Clock

Avescripter D-Weather

Chalkboard

Two Pidlshortcuts

All these are set to the Desktop Icon state. I've also got a few other apps running (windowblinds, colibri, ubericon, rocketdock, y'zshadow, porthole and reflex vision). Somebody help me please??!!

I've attached a zip file with two screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about.

P.S: I know this is not the place for this, but whenever I change a font in my Appearance settings, it gets reset when I reboot. Solution anybody?

do you use any stardock apps? like WindowFX? or maybe y'z's y'z shadow? perhaps WindowBlinds?

ive had that problem too. just hide your taskbar, then unhide it. that got rid of the problem for me

Didn't spoosh for me. I am using y'z shadow. I've mentioned running apps in my post.

Darn!

Well.. I've had this problem over and over with Windows. The top bar is hell. I've tried it and the stupid title bar always seems to get behind it often.

This isn't an avedesk issue. I had this problem way before avedesk appeared on my pc.

That's why I never run with the menu bar at the top. Its just windows handles it bad. The only thing I did to "partially" solve this is by make the taskbar not stayontop all the time.

I feel it's most probably a conflict between Windowblinds and Avedesk. I've got certain applications set up on a per application basis and the problem only occur when I've got both windowblinds and avedesk running. Also, if I change the per-app skin, then the problem dissapears. For example, in my screenshot, I'm using Opera skinned on a per-application basis with the Tiger Safari skin by Toyo Snow and if I change this to system default, then the problem dissapears. I've also got firefox skinned similarly with the Steve Grenier Mac Tiger skin and that's also giving me problems.

What I want to know is, has anybody else experienced this kind of problem? I'm no coder or anything, but I think there's a conflict here. So can somebody please look into it?

Lord

I'd love to know too how everyone else is working with this top taskbar thing.

I don't run windowsblind and I had his problem prior to installing AveDesk. So I'm convinced its just a windows bugs

I didn't have this problem before installing Avedesk. I know that for sure, I mean my pc is on atleast 18 out of 24 hours and this is the kind of annoying problem that simply waves at you, wanting to get noticed, so it can't be missed. I've been using the top-bar setup since months now, never had any problem till now. So...Hell! This bug is getting on my nerves. Just try it, someone. It's Very Annoying. Help me please! BTW, thanks PCM for replying. At least somebody has taken notice, lol.

Edit: I've tried fooling around a bit with the settings in both WB and Avedesk. The glitch occurs only with apps skinned on a per-app basis with the Safari skin by Toyo Snow. That narrows the problem down. Now can somebody try reproducing this and tell me if it is being reproduced?

This just happens for me when I un-maximise the windows.

I'm running Vista, no window blinds, no avedesk, this happend to me on windows xp, even without any of those progs. Just windows that doesn't handle top taskbar well :/

Yeah, but the wierd thing is the problem completely dissapears when I close the said programs. I've learnt to live with it now, .

BTW, I'd thought this thread had died, :). Didn't expect it to be replied to anymore after the days of inactivity, :P
