Im doing myfirst, vista desktop that im proud of: Prview Here And I got that all down, And i want to add text "micrsoft windows vista" to the darker right side, with effects like this in AdobeCS2, how would I accomplish that???
Text Shadows
I'm assuming you're using Photoshop? Since you didn't clarify.
The text layer. Flip Vertically. Move down so the top is just under the base line of the original text. Make white your foreground color. Double Click the layer to get into the Layer Styles. Drop the Fill down to 0. Add Gradient Overlay. Choose white to transparent. You may need to invert gradient to get it going the correct way. Drop the opacity down to desired effect. On the canvas, click and drag (with the Layer Styles dialog open) down so it doesn't quite span across the text. You may want to mess with the size of the gradient. Tweak the opacity, position and size of the gradient to get the effect you want. Voila!
Danm! When I read that I couldn't belive I couldn't figure that out myself!
Thanks a bunch man, greatly apreashiated,

Great work!!!
I really like that sorta DNA effect with the words and the light coming from the logo. Heh, even the font in the Preview desktop looks cool. (but that's the preview).
Actually, come to think of it, it feels like that scene from Finding Nemo when Marlin and Dory swim down into the darkness. I guess "Windows" really is everywhere, even in the darkest depths of the ocean. ![]()
