Since when is Link to The Past the only Zelda game ever made? Or do they have a meaning I don't get?

#449496

maybe they meant the only good game every made... I dunno. I don't play much zelda.

#449521

yeah, you can kinda tell :P Another game in the Zelda series has been rated the best game ever for the past 7 years running, so I doubt he was saying that.. :P

#449525

Uh... it's pretty obvious. IGN is saying that Link to the Past established the Zelda formula that has been used in all games since, thus, the only Zelda game ever made, in that there aren't variants to the design it established.

It's called a hyperbolic metaphor.

#449535

Yeah, I guess you could think of it as Link to the Past is Zelda 1.0, and then Ocarina of Time is like Zelda 1.4.

#449536

Hyperbolic Metaphor? Are you sure it's not called a mistake? :P

No, I figured they wouldn't be dumb enough to leave that up, but I really couldn't understand what they were trying to say.
