Aqua-Soft ForumsI am looking for a new monitor this summer to replace my two 17" I currently own (if anyone is interested in buying). I am looking for a wide screen that is fairly large for watching movies. So a 24" with a resolution of 1900*1200 would probably suit me the best. What are the top performers?
Top 24" Monitors
IMO the top performer is the one I got for $300. Can't beat that.

I saw a good one at Best Buy. It's 24", 1920 x 1200, all that good stuff. And it's made by Gateway. Not sure how good they are, but whatever.
ViewSonic makes great 24" widescreen monitors. I have a 22" ViewSonic I use at home and I love it.
Picked it up at Office Max for $280.00.
My grandfather has the Gateway 24" widescreen and it's awesome. HD capable, but not cheap though.
I dig the touch bezel controls on it.
The Dell 2407WFP is on sale right for $629 USD (w/ free shipping) here in the States...just got one myself hooked-up to my MBP..
The other one I was looking at is the BenQ FP241W (or the WZ)... Both are great 24" monitors...
I was also looking for a 24" monitor for when I get my MBP. It'll give it a better presence on the desktop.

I would consider Samsung as top brand to look at when your shopping for LCD moniters. Though, it may be a bit pricey compare to the other monitors. I believe it's around $700 dollars for the Samsung SyncMaster 24" Widescreen Monitor.

Pink Hue cover the screen [when Default] which means in-order to get rid of it you'll need to calibrate it and it costs u extra bucks for it but it came out real nice

i have one and using it for my PC though i don't know about Mac.
First i thought that was manufactory defect but it wasn't, they're all like that.
I've basically heard great things about Dell monitors, but I can get an Acer monitor for around $200 that's 20" and 1680x1050. Is Acer a good company?
Basically, if you have the money to spend, get a Dell. They have good warranty, free shipping, good controls, and I think the 24" has a bunch of inputs too.
I'd personally pick up a Dell 24" if I did have the money, but I'm broke as a mug, so when I was looking to upgrade my 15" LCD I had, I picked up a 20.1" 1400*1050 monitor 
Paid $300 for it and I regret it now since I see some nicely priced 24" out there.

I like that Benq in Russia costs 500 bucks less than Cinema but I don't know how Benq good at colors. I need a mon for making press materials. I know that IPS Cinema display is the best in this way but our Mafia (www.apple.com/ru/) grabs almost 500 bucks (900 $ in US - 1400 $ in Russia) for giving you an opportunity to use that dream machine.
So my question to you how bad is Benq FP241W in comparison to Apple Cinema 23

Boy 24" is really big one and working on them is really a great pleasure. Rite now I am stivk with my 17" Samsung monitor. I will try to buy 24" but not now may be later on.

Depends which model, I have the 245BW and it's around $400.
Get a Dell UltraSharp. Worth every cent paid for it, and the glossy screens are ridiculously gorgeous.

Dell is *VA display. If we don't mention CRT monitors, the best mons that show you close colors to what you want to see when you print photos or any other print stuff are IPS display mons. Unfortunately they are the most expensive:

Apple Cinema's response times are horrid, ranging from ~14 to 18ms.
I am using SAMSUNG products and they are really reliable. I do not know whether 24" TFT is in their product list or not. If SAMSUNG have than you should go for it with that only. I do not like LG products as they are not reliable as SAMSUNG are.
My friend have 24" monitor and thats of Apple (If I am not wrong). Boy that's really a great pleasure to work on that big screen without giving problem to your eyes. I am using my 15" and planning to shift to 17" but 24" is out of my budget.
