I downloaded the hacked system files from Iceman's site (click here to go to it) and I ran into a lil prob. When Im trying to overwrite the existing shell32.dll file with the new one I downloaded I get a error "cant overwrite shell32.dll, it is being used". How would I go about replacing it since its oviously running on my comp? thanks
BTW: Im running WindowsXP Home and Im just copying and pasting the files for the replacements.
Well Windows XP protects system files to prevent them from being replaced....The method I would suggest is to use Recovery Console as demonstrated by Iceman on his web site as Windows File Protection does not exist in Recovery Console mode and you will be able to replace every single file in Windows....
But be sure to rename your dllcache and ServicePackFiles folder because otherwise on starting Windows, it will replace all the files with original ones....
I'm pretty sure that you have not managed to replace most of the system files because you have just copy-pasted the system files which would have allowed Windows File Protection to replace them....

If you're read the whole tutorial over, tried everything, and are still having problems, then ask for help. But don't download a file, try to overwrite when it doesn't work, and then ask for help when there were directions there the whole time.
