Help needed with backing up Outlook email folders and settings

I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?

I would recommend going to the Microsoft site here: Link

It shows you how to back-up and restore your messages, address book, mail accounts and news accounts. Just make sure to print and/or write it down before you reinstall. :)

That was just like what I needed. However, if I am to choose between a manual backup and a automated one ( made by a software ) I would go

with the last one, because I'm not the "do it your self" type, and I'm afraid of the possibility of losing it if I don't do the backup just right. Too bad the OE Quick Backup has been discontinued.. Sounded like a nice application. However, after searching for similar software tools on the web I've found several , such as http://www.amicutilities.com/outlook-express-backup/

check the Outlook Settings. there's probably something in there that backs up your messages. just wondering, do you have a security program installed on your pc? Windows XP usually comes with one so getting viruses on your pc is pretty rare.
