Windows Problem

I went to the webpage at http://www.amilcarguerra.com/~iceman/sysfiles/ and decided to change my icons and stuff the only thing is i didnt get the my computer, shutdown dialog, log off, and Control Panel but in the control panel there is double icons of the orignal icons. any help.

Double icons? do you mean a copy of your original icons plus the new ones? It's really strange

Well can you tell me what OS you are using and what method you used to replace your system files?

Well im running XP Pro Sp1 and i went though a another drive that had a operating system and backedup and copied all the files though the other OS, and for one of the other replys its a copy and both work.

One i had to rebuild the icons and second the mods where set up for the fancy control panel the the standard.

I think that I know the answer. Did you rename your original files but kepping their extension as .cpl? If so, that's why windows is loading both copies. Just rename your original files:

whatever.cpl.bak

and you're done. It's because Windows load all the cpl files that it found in the system32 directory. Good luck.
