I have a question about .dll files. I downloaded a pack of .dll files off this site and I am leary about switching my current factory .dll files with the ones I downloaded. If I switch my .dll files can I change them back forsure? I want to change my .dll files to get the whole Mac OS X look!

First you assure that the dll that I already discharge coincides with their version of XP "SP1 or non SP1."
If you use a program as Replacer, the alone one will take charge of creating a file backup, for each file that you remplace.

yup, he's right. just use replacer. it'll change it automatically, go through the other folders (dll cache, etc.), create a backup, and deal with windows file protection. easy! (Y)

and if you need to restore, you can use replacer again. just drag the new file (the one you used to replace the factory one), then type restore. and you can always restore your backup by going through the recovery console, assuming you can't get into windows, but that's unlikely.

Sorry I should have made my post a little clear, oops. I am kinda new at the whole .dll file thing. But the .dll file I would like to change is, when I am downloading anything off the interent and there is that boring solid progress bar also when I am surfing the interent and waiting for pages to load that bar at the bottom of IE too. I would like to just change that .dll does anyone have that .dll file. Has anyone had sucess changes there .dll files?
I have enclosed a pic of the progress bar! I hope its in my post!
this should probably be in the customizing windows area. but for those avi files, i think you'll need to look into shell32.dll. there should be some tutorials around here somewhere.
I have been search for hours on this site but I can't find the tutorials can some one please post a reply with the tutorials.
ok, i haven't done this myself, but i think this is how it goes:
open up shell32.dll in reshacker and under avi, you should see a bunch of avis denoted by numbers. just open those up and take note of what you see. what you want to do is take the aqua version of the avi and replace it by clicking "replace resource" and then specifying the resource type, "avi." save it and compile or whatever, and it should work.
pack has released a files set (he's releasing the installer soon) and it has all the system files you could ever think of already modded. you may want to look into using those.
