how to create animated folder icons

i think anyone who uses os x will have noticed a folder 'opens' if you're hovering over it with someting to drag in

now my question is,

which iconcreator-program is needed to create such animated icons?

Stardock had a free standalone application called SpringFolders that did exactly that. I suppose it is now an integrated part of ObjectDesktop. Maybe if you look around you can still find an old version floating around.

i'm on a Mac, so no Stardock ;)

If you use IconBuilder from the IconFactory you can create the open-state image. It's a payware Photoshop pulg-in but it has a trial period.

anyone knows if the standalone is still available, or if there is another application that does the same? I quite miss this feature on Windows... :slant:

just use WB if youy have it, it works fine with me.

uhm, maybe it's because I don't want to use WindowsBlind or ObjectDesktop that I specifically ask for a standalone version, what do you think ?

I wonder why do I even spend time reading your posts, dunno :| time to revive that tool.

Is Windowblinds a magic word that cures all? Windowblinds does filetransfer animations, yes, but nothing of the sort that dreadnaut is asking for.

Zacks: Try Folder Icon Maker 2.0. It's for OS X, up to Leopard.
