I'm on a shared computer - and my roomate absolutely HATES the login screen (luckily, the icons haven't bugged him... yet) so is there anyway i can revert to the typical Windows XP login screen?
How can I revert the login screen to WinXP WITHOUT uninstalling?
uhh yea, just uninstall the logon screen in the FAK installation preferences.
I also need to find out how to get rid of all the copyrighted Apple stuff (including login screen, splash screen, information tabs etc..).. Anything that says "MAC OS X"..
Does anybody here know how to do this? I tried uninstalling FAK and the stuff still stays..

THIS DOESN'T WORK!
It's not as if we're too stupid to have gussed this ourselves.. check it first before writing it..
then just uninstall FAK and reinstall the things that you want...
This doesn't work either. Once FAK is on the computer the Apple poop is permanent unless you tinker with system files manually (often at the risk of making your computer stone-cold unbootable)... not so user-friendly after all, is it? ![]()
Not that I couldn't use one of my Linuxes or even Backtrack to fix it if it did die, but the point is I just installed a fresh XP. The last thing I want to do is start manually screwing with my registry and system32 folder.. I don't have the time for it.
I'm disappointed and disillusioned with FAK.
This doesn't make any sense to me........
You share a computer with someone else and installed a new program(s) without consulting with that other person.
Next you installed items on your computer to give you the Apple look and feel and then it becomes Apple S__t.
You may be able to find some help in uninstalling FAK if you search the threads in FlyakiteOSX of which this has become a thread. Have you tried an uninstall? or a system restore?
Isn't there an option to extract all the files in the installer, or is that from an older version of the installer?

Mate if you look carefully that was two different people.
I don't share anything with anyone.
I like Apple's look and Apple's feel, but not their copyrighted property. I wasn't aware of this being an irreversible part of the package.
As for system restore... well I've never used it before, but I was careful enough to check that a restore point was made at the time of FAK installation.
I'm not too sure how it works though, because I've made other important installations since then.
My bad phalaris....I need to read more carefully. Sorry. I just happen to like FAK because I use Mac and Windows equally and it ends a little confusion (or maybe it adds to it, I don't know).
Ya..if you restore to a point B.F. (before FAK) you'll lose any subsequent installations as well.
i also am having problems reverting the login screen back.
i completely uninstalled flyakite osx and it still didnt revert back.
what could be the issue? (ive tried many things...)
