New in 10.4.9...
Nothing noticable (I guess I should have better read the release notes) except...
... GAHH!!!! Shapeshifter no longer works.... anyone else have this problem?
I got it last night, when I rebooted shapeshifter gave me a warning about it was shutting down as a precaution, I just went into the sys pref and restarted it.
I tried one of the theme's and got a warning about and older OS version, and then clicked continue and it all seemed fine. Only time will tell if there are more theme that require upgrading. Looks like the themeing Community might be busy for a few days.
Don't panic if you can't eject a disc
Just so you all know, they have put a slight delay into the eject key so you have to actually HOLD it down to eject discs now, not just tap it.
Good feature in my opinion.. the amount of times I have ejected my discs whilst running a game!
Also some of you with CD and C2D MacBooks/Pro may find your volume has increased as this appears to be a bug fix as well.
Some are having a few problems with their updates... but if you do have any, do not panic and don't do anything too rash. Simple fixes and solutions are available.

Nope, 10.4.9+APE 2.03 made me a very happy man who's OS X actually boots up as fast as XP on this macbook.

10.4.9 also ups the volume on my iMac, and yeah, there's that ShapeShifter warning. But I clicked the "whatever, apply the damn theme now" button and it doesn't seem to have screwed anything up. There aren't really GUI changes in the update, so I presume it just doesn't matter. Much.

that has never made sense to me, people seem to forget the decimal system when they jump from .9 to .10

Hmm... I dunno. Mine's working perfectly well. Try rebooting or something.

apparently they've fixed the issues with Rosetta being slow on startup
I reverted to Aqua, uninstalled Shapeshifter, uninstalled APE, restarted, ran a few cleaning/maintenance scripts (so I had to restart once more), and then installed 10.4.9.
I don't really notice any big changes. I can't tell so much if the max volume level has been upped, but I'd certainly be glad if it has...it always seemed like the speakers on my Macbook were not nearly as powerful as those on my Dell Latitude D600, for example.
I'm going to wait a little bit to re-install APE and Shapeshifter, but it'd be cool if startup was really much faster, as vkeios reports it to be.

@nightykins, If you want, I could count the seconds, after logging in for everything to start, since the only thing I have start at log in is quicksilver.

.10 is supposed to be a pre-release build of the next number in the series (e.g. 4.10 -> 5.0),
though some projects *cough* gnome, forget that.
