the windows vs. mac vs. linux/unix thread

I, Metallicamaster3, and MSEMPLOYEE393 both would like to start up this general [nicely] argumental thread about which OS YOU think is the better one.

But heres the catch: Make sure that the OS you are defending in this debate is in the same time frame of release and usage dates as the OS(s) you are attacking.

(ie. battling Windows XP with no service packs and Mac OS X 10.0 or Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and Mac OS X 10.3/10.4) You get the idea, right?

Also, keep flaming to a minimum, huh? heard of "constructive criticism"? or use your opinion...whatever!

Heres what I think to start up the thread...

I think that Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is the overall best OS there is right now.

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger has the best overall balance of Functionality, Eye Candy, and nicely developed programs.

Compared to its competitor, Windows XP SP2, i believe that it literally wipes the floor with it.

Although, Mac OS X seems to have the lack of game support, along with 3rd party software. Windows seems to steal the show with that. WinBoxez also seem to be on the faster side compared to Macboxez.

some versions of Linux, such as Ubuntu, is a very nice operating system to me, so i think i will leave that one alone...for now.

Unix i have never even seen, so i cannot compare that.

Mac OS X compared to Windows Vista.....well to me i think that Vista is a copy of tiger with the Vista sticker attached. So yeah.

ok so lets get serious....

For me, Windows Vista Home Premium Edition is the best OS there is out at the moment.

Vista has the best funtionality i have ever seen, and most earlier programs made for XP or even 2000 have proven to work flawlessly with Vista (with the exception of iTunes...yeah yeah)

Compared to Linux....bleh.....what can i say. I cant really criticiZe it cuz its a free OS....same with Unix....i think?

Vista seems to be the best suit for me.
