Skitz posted his desktop to AquaXP yesterday with what looks like a Panther style Finder.
I spoke to alilm, and he knows nothing about it.

Also, if someone is going to PS a pic, wouldnt they at LEAST try and improve the fonts appearance?
His fonts are all arial or MS Shell and not even set to AntiAlias.

It's very very hard to tell, if it is fake it is a darn good one I must say. The only thing that has me crying foul is the strange boxes around the fonts in the finder when you zoom in 700 percent or so.
On an unrelated note!...how did he get the drives stats to display below the drives on the desktop?

yea, a lot of people read the sticky, that's why some people are pissed because they try to help others out so hard and yet others are refusing to share with the community.
This is why I hate forums - everyone wants to do it the wrong way.
If skitz has some thing you want, there is a proper way to approach him without causing a public scene. If it's developed by him, it holds value to him. Set up a good enviroment to where he is receptive of something you may have that he lacks. Be nice and respective. Then trade him something of value for it. Make the exchange pleasantly worth his time and you will always get future goodies from him. This approach always works, as opposed to causing a big public stir and hassle for the person that has goods you want.
And who cares whats on a sticky? I bet half of the stuff most of you own you don't need or want - yet you were sold on it somehow. Well, skitz doesn't know everything that might be available to him yet - he wrote that note without knowing some of the goodies I have, and I bet if someone showed him respect and wetted his appetite for items of equal or greater value he'd throw that little sticky note right out the window.
Yet here people are talking about how that pisses them off. Guess what? You wont even get to the negotiating table with an attitude like that.
Ask anyone around - I can get my hands on just about anything, because I follow the above guidelines. Comfort, respect & value. Throwing out second guesses and conjecture serves no positive purpose in acheiving your end goal of actually acquiring The Finder.
Talk about alienation and a complete lack of negotiation skills...

Furthermore, he chose to submit that pic to voting in a 'desktop of the month' thread, therefore it is up for legitimate debate.

Thats all very well an exchange and all.
But we are all exchanging things for each other, everyone (almost) contributes from developers like jed to wallpaper gurus like Mihaly, from hilarious admins like Goku to punk rock mod Godpunk. Thats what makes this community so greta, if you dont want to share something dont make a big thing of it like, 'heres my amazing app and none of you can have it', its stupid. But yeh, im not on bad terms with skitz i just think his actions are anti social.
::::::Disclaimer:::: My following post is only to provide insight on the question at hand; Is this image a real application, if so by who or is it only a Photoshop? I am neither blaming Skatz nor defending him.
1. I checked out the tag information inside and found out that the image was made in Photoshop 7.0. For this information found in the .jpg;
"Adobe Photoshop 7.0 2003:07:25 23:48:46 ÿØÿà JFIF H H ÿí Adobe_CM ÿî Adobe d€ "
This evidence does not conclude however that the image was "Photoshoped", because he could of just use the "Print Screen" key and then used Photoshop 7.0 to paste the image from the clipboard and create the .jpg.
2. If you notice closely to the image everything in the screen shot has Anti-Aliased fonts, including most parts of the "Finder" application in question. Which brings up the question; "If the text was not edited in, how can you have Anti-Aliased fonts on for only certain parts on an application?"
Again I am not trying to say that the Finder application in his screenshot is fake or real. But only provide the information I found to help you decide on what you believe. No offence to Skatz at all.
Partaking in a forum does not mean you have to share all your crap, nor does it mean if you post a screen youre anti-social for not handing out your goods. Get over that!
THINK for a second about the other possibilities: perhaps he is beta testing that for someone and can't distribute it, but likes everyone enough to let them see a preview. That seems more in line with what usually happens with new apps. Yet so many people are quick to judge and jump on the bandwagon of 'not fair'.
For real, why start a thread about a developer and his unreleased app if not to cause trouble? Seems like the changes occuring here in the past week are intent on taking things back to the way they once were around here...which is the Admins choice.
Just seemed like that was a time that was pissing off alot of developers and losing members. But nevermind me, Im just a member.
I dont think it's real at all. Zoom it up to around 1000% in Photoshop, and you can see a white line across the top of the finder, and look outside the rounded edges, it a little messy, It looks to me that he's cut an image of the finder out and edited it. I just did it earlier in Photoshop, and it looks real.

No doubt about it....it is not windows. That isn't a finder running on windows.
