Internet in VMware with Ubuntu

Afternoon everyone,

I'm trying to set up Ubuntu in Windows using VMware, but by following a few of the instructions I've found online I haven't been able to get online from the VMware player. I run from college ethernet, but that shouldnt really matter. I've set the VMware player to run a Bridged connection, which from what I've read causes the player to piggyback my current connection.

Other things that might be problematic:

Kaspersky AV

Windows Firewall

Any suggestions? I'm almost a complete newbie to both VMware and Ubuntu...

A little more info:

I have tried VMware player in both NAT and Bridged settings, unless a restart of the player is required for this to go into effect, neither one has worked correctly.

you've got to install microsoft loopback adapter to make internet run on a VMware machine

try to google : VMWare loopback adapter

you'll find everything you'll need

Great, this looks to have worked. I couldnt find which anywhere, as simple google searches were more or less ineffective and the Ubuntu forums are pretty full of support requests. Glad someone was around to answer :D
