Apple Mighty Mouse on Win XP/Vista

Hy guys,

Under windws i can`t get the roll ball to work as a wheel click there is no options to configure that in Mouse properties in Control panel.

I also cant get horisontal scrolling to work on XP (on Vista that works), XP wont recognize it as a mouse with a "tilt wheel technology"...

Are there any windows drivers available or is there any other solution for this ???

hmm...

i'm quite surprised...

The mighty mouse should register as a basic USB mouse (with scroll wheel functionality).

Have you installed Bootcamp drivers? you will need a mac to create the disk, but it will create all the drivers and I assume that includes drivers for the mighty mouse to be used in Windows(seeing as it is a mac peripheral intended to be used on intel Macs).

If you dont have a mac to create the disk, then you might be able to find the bootcamp driver disk online on torrent sites or the like.

I dont own a mighty mouse, but I dont think it should be too hard to get working.

I forget....did Terrytoons sue Apple for using the Mighty Mouse name? Maybe they can both use it like Cisco and Apple did with iPhone.

How did you get the 360 mouse wheel to work so that you can scroll anywhere? eg. up, down, left, right... Please help me!

I’m wondering if any of you geniuses have written a program or know of a program that enables the 360 degree scrolling for the Apple Mighty Mouse in windows XP? I have done an extensive search on the internet, but haven’t had any luck.

The only thing I found is a Japanese company that offers a driver. Bad thing (at least for me) is that I cannot understand a single word on their web page.

I got it translated with google and the web site is just below. If anyone has any information about this subject please reply Im going crazy. I just bought A mighty mouse for my Xp but it doesnt work properly.

If anyone is Japanese or knows some one who is Japanese please ask them how to download the full version. I managed to download a trial version of AppleM Pro which

is what the software is called and I works perfectly but you have to buy the full version other wize a message keeps poping up in Japanese telling you to buy the full software.

If someone manages to get hold of the full software could

you please send it to me because i cant buy it because i am

only 13 years old and my mum wont let me.

Oh heres the web site i found

Mouse works great in Vista (Even on my Panther machine, it would mis-recognise my fingers just sitting on the mouse as a full click and start bringing up menus randomly, same in XP)

I just want to know if anyone knows of a way to make the force-buttons customizable? as in, use them to trigger the WIN+TAB combo as an app switch... maybe even trigger F9 for expose`. The whole "Use it as a back-button" is only useful once in a long while... mostly on Wikipedia.

I am working on Windows XP at work, ordered a Mighty Mouse and was excited about it scrolling 360°, then it comes in and *surprise* it doesn't. I see that you have resolved your issue with Intellipoint 6.1. I have tried that, and it asks first thing for the type of mouse. Can you tell me which option you chose? "Trackball Optical" did not work. I would appreciate the help, if I can't get it to work I will have to return it. I don't want to do that, as I like it, if I could just get it to function. Thanks!

Update:

I figured out that it was Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 that has horizontal scrolling. It did not fix the problem. Any ideas out there? I can't install the Japanese program to make it work, as I must have an administrative password to install programs. Thanks again for any help!

If you have a Mac and you want a clutter-free wireless mouse that travels well, courtesy of dockless AA power (one or two batteries, you decide), choose the wireless Mighty Mouse with secure Bluetooth capability. Then tuck it in your bag and go anywhere.

Does anyone know how to get horizontal scrolling to work? I just bought one today and everything except that works. I even used Xmousebuttonchanger to customise buttons. (the squeeze buttons now trigger expose (expose for windows = switcher) but no option for left/right scroll. I downloaded the japanese program but t says it will only run on a computer with japanese.
