Griffin Powermate freezes booting

I love the brand-new 17 inch HP Media center laptop i got for Valentine's Day. But I gotta say, this one issue bothers me... a lot. (two words) No matter what power-down state my computer is in, off or hibernating, if my Powermate is attached at the time, boot-up freeezes at a black screen. When I unplug it, it continues, then i can plug it back in and it works fine.

It's just one of those things...

The only driver i have is the newest one. any ideas?

P.S. anyone got a good icon for this thing?

The same thing used to happen to me with my iPod and my Dell, at BIOS. I'm not sure of a solution, but at least you're not suffering alone :P.

check if you can move the hard disk in front of everything in the bios, if my ipod is plugged into the dell, it'll take about 30 seconds longer while it searches the ipod to boot off.

it also appears as a usb something something in the bootloader..

me too.

a2z: check your bios and try disabling legacy usb support.

I guess (just a guess) that's how WIndows behaves.. cuz even on my MacBook with Vista, if I have my iPod plugged in Firewire, Vista won't boot..
