Touch Screen iPod = Going to midnight sale (even if I have to start my own) to buy one on release day

What I think a touchscreen iPod would be is the iPhone, without the square button on the bottom, with coverflow or list view when you want either. It would also do videos in wide screen, but it would look nice, unlike this.

Agreed. They just have to take out all the useless software, like the phone and internet connectivity, lower the price so it's in the iPod range, and ship. It will sell like the worlds most famous hotcakes.

From what we've seen in the iPhone, this idea isn't creative and makes no sense at all. What's the use in a touch screen if we're limited to a virtual click wheel? It makes a heck of a lot more sense to "touch your music". I think a video iPod should DEFINITELY be released, and soon (I hope). I love the iPhone, but I don't want a phone or browser. I want an mp3 player.
I don't see why Apple can't release an iPod that has nearly an identical interface to the iPhone, but with less features. Cut out the phone and the widgets and you've got a perfect iPod. In fact, I don't see why the iPod shouldn't have WiFi web browsing. If the DS and PSP can do it, so can the iPod, right?
Yeah, you have a point there, but a lot of people think the iPhone is cluttered and filled with bunches of features no one really needs/wants in there next phone or music player, and that same logic is what Apple used.. because many things come along with the WiFi web browsing, and in the end you might end up with a touch-screen PSP. and thats not like apple.. more Sony-like if you ask me. (I wouldn't be surprised if the PSP2 had a touch screen
