I hate to break it to you, but OSX doesn't do that.

EDIT: yeah, when you close the finder it does that.

... be quiet Ellada.

- rmeeder... do it again in finder. you will find that it doesn't actually close to the top right, but rather that it goes back to its source (eg- Macintosh HD)... so move the macintosh HD icon, and it will close to a different point on the screen.

There used to be an app for windows that featured animations similar to those in OSX, when you opened a folder, the window would 'spring' from the icon. But i dont know if it sprung back when closed... I've forgotten its name tho sorry :( will have a look for you

What it sounds like you're describing is the "minimize in place" function from the early OS X days (pre-jag) but was summarily removed. A 3rd party app (windowshadeX) re-enables this function. It works by the minimize button, not the close button by the way....or......I could be completely wrong....

I would suggest WindowFX from stardock, I believe that's the program that Levi is talking about.

erm.... no OSX 10.4.8 still has this feature (im using it/seeing it now)... you must have disabled it

Yeah windowfx, will probably do it- but its not the one im thinking of. The one im thinking of came bundled with... styler?.... or maybe it was just part of some system replacement kit.
