Kiwi Corp

This is not the official launch of my company website but it's a preview. It's in french and it's still under construction.

Kiwi Corp

All the structure is somehow built, took me nearly a month to make it. Now all we need is content.

Comments on the design greatly appreciated. :D

I have to thank a lot of people who helped me building this website up and they are all members of Aqua-Soft! But I have a question, if I use these icons, do I need the permission of the authors of them? I hope I'm not going over a law of something here.

Edit: Website updated / 100% Completed

I like brown shading...not enough brown in design work these days :-)

Question: I'm from New Zealand, so I was wondering why you've gone for the name Kiwi?

#442607

Ya.. my friends told me that they liked the brown too.. Thanks

I really don't know why we called ourselves Kiwi. When I joined the team, it was already like that.

They told me that it was because our product looked brown in the outside, and green in the inside. Well, actually it is not green in the inside but the contents in it is "green", it is "fair trade". We sell coffee, tea, chocolate, etc. all fair trade products.

And also, some people liked the word Kiwi, since it is said like that in most of the languages (English, French, Bulgar, Spanish? etc). I was like a bit like "What the.." when I heard that but anyway, it's too late, too bad! Haha..

Glad you liked the design.

do you rock the frenchness? if so, awesome.

took four years in high school in the US, but haha, you know our education system sucks.

Anyway, nice design, I'd make it a bit wider, but overall, killer design.

Thanks, great to hear ya like it

I live in Montreal, Quebec (Canada), so we normally speak french here that's why ;)

I like it. It is my style. What is the name of it in english?

#448862

Good site. Get rid of Handel Gothic D and switch it to a standard sans-serif.

#448868

i like it, the combination of colors fit the company perfect and the layout is proportional to the content

What do you mean by "What is the name of it in english?" ? I don't understand what you are talking about.

Thanks, but why that, it looks nice I think

Hmm, i think its on a good way...

  1. I really don't like the intro... It doesnt fit the quality of the rest of the site (looks like a first time user in Photoshop made this)
  2. The design of the Webpage is good also the source is clean and well done
  3. Take a look here http://www.samova.net/ ... Maybe you can get some more ideas...

@Angryman

It's the first I make a flash intro. I used SwishMAX to make it because it was easier to use. Me neither I don't really like it, my "boss" wanted me to put it as the website intro because he kinda liked it and the rest of the company too. It seemed professional to them and they insisted to do so.

Glad you liked the design ^^

But about the website site you gave me (Samova), I don't really get it. It is in some sort of German and I don't understand a word. :P

Pros: Very nice design; it's very sleek and attractive. The markup is really clean as well. The site itself is easy to navigate (the main site w/out the intro, I mean). Great job.

Cons: The intro. Just the intro. It doesn't really say much about your company. IMO, perhaps you could get rid of it and replace it with a video ad on the site itself.

Other comments: For the images, you don't have to keep adding drop shadows with your image-editing program. If you have the time and patience, you can add them with CSS. Just a suggestion to make it less hassling to add images with drop shadows. ;)
