Finding an iMac/iBook g3
first of all, i would like to know why you want a G3.
secondly, I am about 99% sure you cannot get a NEW G3. The closest thing will be refurbished.
and the best place? eBay.
actually, there is another place: shopping.com, but their prices are sometimes high.
Ive been working with computers for a long time and have used them almost all my life. I just kind of have a thing for older computers. Of course, I wouldnt use the g3s for heavy stuff, but I like the way they look, and I guess you could say that im a collector.
Joking apart, that was the reason a lot of the iMacs were bought...they looked far out at the time they were launched, If you have a look around e-bay your sure to find a decent one for the right money.

(Basically a forerunner for the eMac, with the styling of the iMac)

As far as iBooks go (Clamshell)
Once again apple did a special edition with a few more whistles and bells before the change over to the iBooks as we now know them.
A Few crop up on ebay every now and then shop smart and you should have your collection increased in no time.
FWIW those iMacs running anything above 300Mhz are still nice little machines and will happily run OSX providing you bump the ram up to a minimum of 320mb. Also it helps to get a newer HDD in them as the originals run at 5400rpm some even at 4200rpm, putting a 7200rpm HDD in them really makes a difference, and its an easy mod.

We do have the very iBook yo're looking for, and we're just ready to get another lap-top, probably a MacBook Pro Intel Dual Core, as my partner's job will eventually require him to travel with computer. This is my first post, so I'm not sure whether it's ok to suggest to ask the administrator to get in touch with us? It's a 2001 G3 lime green clam-shell in perfect shape (NEVER left the office table, NO KIDS around to ever bang it aroundt :-)) with OS 9.2 on it. Was only used to do occasional emails. The reason why I now subscribe to this great Aqua-soft Forum is that I was trying to see whether anyone had tried to resolve networking the iMac G5 with OS X.3.9 to this Airport-equipped OS 9.2 clam-shell when connected to Comcast DSL. And I'll repeat the question above in a tech forum as soon as I find it! Good Hunting!
