Switch User Refuses to Work

I am no longer able to switch users, for reasons unknown. Start>Log off, Switch users, no luck. Win+L, nothing. Any ideas?

reformat's coming soon, still backing everything up.

winkey+r, type in services.msc and ensure that fast user switching is started and secondary logon is started

if they arent, rightclick and press start, or if it is disabled, doubleclick and set to automatic

yep, both are enabled. still doesn't work. thanks for your help

have you tried troubleshooting through windows help or the microsoft site?

check it isn't disabled under users in control panel

also what was the last thing you did before it stopped working?

hmm...not gonna mess around with the registry at this point.

whatever the case is, it works now :confused:
