Selecting specific iTunes tracks

I was wondering is there any way of 'Automatically' selecting/highlighting the first track of every album in my library? As I want to export the artwork of every album but not every track of every album as it causes multiple files of the same artwork. I hope this is clear to understand. Any help is much appreciated.

So you just want the Artwork, not the tracks themselves?

Yes. What I am planning to do is make a pdf contact sheet containing all the covers of every album in my library, but if I just highlight every track and export the artwork, it exports the artwork for every single track . For example 'The Beatles - Let It Be' album has 11 track so I will get 11 .pict files of the same album art when exported, thats 10 files more than I need and I've got around 400 albums in my library so thats is going to be some task going through over 4000 pict files, deleting the multiples to get it back to around 400 and I dont know of any workflow that can be used in automator to do that. So in a nutshell, I just wanna export the artwork of every album, not every track in the album.

The artwork is actually part of the 'Track' ID Tag.

Are You using a Mac Or a PC?

If your using a Mac you might want to look along the lines of this {link} (Shareware)

Or This applescript should save it to a designated folder {link} (Free)

Or This Automator Plugin {link} (Free)

If Your on a PC...... I have no idea :o

edit:- Stupid me, just realised you mentioned automator.. so your obviously on OSX try that automator link above

Man your a star, that first link does the trick. Thanks. I did have the bright idea of making a smartplaylist with tracks only containing track number 1 but only to figure out i'd have to go and edit the info of alot of albums with no track numbers. But no need now. Thanks Again.
