I was wondering what you guys could tell me about the iPodLinuxProject and whether or not it's safe to try it on a 30GB or 80GB iPod 5G? Have any of you done this, and if so, what were your experiences? Have you had any problems? If somethings goes wrong, will Restoring the iPod work?

Edit: I was considering changing the "do not disconnect" icon, as discussed here. Have any of you done this too?
the worst thing that will ever happen installing linux is software based.
in other words if anything ever goes wrong you can restore and that will remove any music/videos on the ipod (you'll have to sync them again)
though why you'd want to install linux for that i don't know...
Well, i would like to expand the use of my iPod, considering i've only used up up 9GB...I would like to be able to do more with it. I guess that's pretty stupid then...
