iTunes tells me Library is damaged

Hi Guys

Running:

1.8 GHz PPC G5 iMac

2 GB Ram

latest Tiger

After a unexpected power failure in which the complete system went down including iTunes which was playing at the time. After restart iTunes tells me that the Library is damaged and then opens with a complete blank Library.

Is there and easy way to restore the Library?

Thanks

Move iTunes Music Library.xml to the desktop. Delete the iTunes Library database file. Import the XML library. Should do the trick.

The Library is still empty. It did bring in some playlists but not the ones I made and these are empty anyhow. Appreciate the advice though.

Hi Guys

I used a piece of shareware to rip both the songs and the playlists from my iPod (iPodRip from the little Appfactory). It takes a long time but at least everything is now more or less back in place, with some minor problems which can be sorted out fairly simply.
