What view are you using in iTunes?

What view do you guys use in iTunes? I personally really like the second one that allows you to see the albums grouped with artwork, make things really tidy :)

I like the Grouped with artwork as well, it does clean the list nicely.

I've found the Coverflow slows down my computer noticably. the new laptop will be the test when I get it in a few days.

items in a list, i do have artwork on a lot of tracks, but there are too many singles from different albums to make the view practical.

i do miss the alternate view availible for videos in itunes 6, now its only visible for movies, and music video's now have a coverflow view instead :(

wish i could get that back

#438615

I use Item in list, cause it's fastest, cleanest way to access the music... partial reason also being same as Slewed.. Though I've full albums, I also have lot of singles.

:D

#438629

even though i've got a boatload of albums and singles, i use coverflow. so purty...

#438636

I use album view, because it works and gives me an easy visual reference for all my albums (all with art over 500x500px).

#438638

i mainly use coverflow, but when I use my widget, it doesnt really matter, now, does it?

but yea, when i have itunes open, its coverflow all the way with albums by artist.

#438645

i have this foobar2000.org -view for less RAM-Usage :D

#438663

Since only about 6 albums I have are complete albums and the rest are one or two songs from any given album, a list is suffice to me, with the Browsing turned on.

#438664

I use the item list because the rest use more memory

#438673

As pathetic as it sounds, I didn't even know about view #2. That's awesome, thanks for telling me about it!

P.S: No, seriously :P;).

#438703

Hahah, you can always send me a MPB or a nice iMac, or a new iPod (my 5G white one broke :()

#438729

I use list view with browsing. It's fast and clean, just the way searching through music should be.

#438790

i use coverflow view with theAMIP plugin so i can jump to tracks with a push of a button...muahahahahaha

#439260

coverflow is useless... flashy but useless...

I use it for my entire library when I just feel like flicking around lazily (shuffle)...

but by far the best for an organised library of music is group view. For example, I have a playlist full of rrock by linkin park, incubus and the like.... I have it sorted by artists and each of thier albums takes up a neat portion and its EASY to navigate.

List view is best for unorganised music, and the odd songs (that arent part of a group that would otherwise take up a large space for a single song) especially that which lacks coverart...

thus all three have a purpose... but I mostly use group view.

#439387

Item list with browsing enabled... Much quicker than Coverflow (But it's fun to play around with)

#439982

I always use list view, no matter how flashy coverflow or even grouped with album covers is. Coverflow slows down my computer and causes the song I'm listening to to skip a lot. I'd use it if I had a much faster computer...

#440041

I keep mine on list, because it's so basic.

#440053

... you people are all silly. -jk

group view is the best by far, because... you can scroll quickly through heaps and heaps of albums (and thier covers) before coming accross one that you want... and you can see all the songs in that album group....

the only trouble is you need an organised (and large) library for it to work effectively. Otherwise you'll have lots of groups full of only one or two songs, many missing covers.

#440188

Items in a list is the only way to go for me

I have 15000+ songs and showing the album artwork takes up too much room and makes it cluttered

#440220

i like to use coverflow because my computer can handle it. Sometimes if i'm running to many applications, i'll switch to item list, and then i'll turn on poster view

#440722

If I turn on grouped view, iTunes lags like hell when scrolling through :

I just use List usually.

#441524

The list, always with browser

#441572

i've started using coverflow with the party shuffle, looks kind of good. I'm surprised however, that it supports png transparencies... :o

#441577

It would be nice if itunes could show album covers in a grid, something like Thumbnail view in Windows Explorer. That would really facilitate browsing through album art.

With the given option, I'll stick with plain list view. It's the fastest to use and the lightest for my CPU. It's a pity iTunes has become such a heavy application. I used to use it more often than now.
