Can someone please rationalize NFR?

I'll be honest, this is one thing that truly and utterly baffles me about the customization world. I'd like to explain how I feel more, but I just truly don't understand why people create something, post a screenshot of it and then go "BTWNFRBBQLOL".

I don't condone ripping, but why rub my nose in the fact that you have it and i (supposedly) can never get it? I thought art (which themeing is art) is something that is meant to be enjoyed.

edit - I don't mean to be rude, and advance apologies if this has broken a rule. I thought that the topic might be good for some healthy debate.
