MacReviews 2007

MacReviews 2007 - Testing out stuff, so you don't have to.

logo4.jpg

MacReviews is a new Mac & PC software/hardware reviewing website.

MacReviews is meant to go the extra step to test out new software and hardware.

We'll be posting monthly online-magazines, similar to regular magazines that you receive in the mail.

You can also submit your own reviews to be part of the MacReviews monthly magazine.

We'll look over your submission, and if accepted it will be put into our default MacReviews format (but without changing any other part of the review).

Visit our site: http://www.macreviews.net/

Cool. Will the future issues have more content?

#438384

Yeah, sorry for the lack of stuff in this one.

I have a suggestion; don't do PDFs. Eventually you will feel forced to move to a more structured environment. A database driven website is better suited to this sort of thing.

We might be moving to our own site (e.g. MacReviews.com), so it would probably some sort of HTML format.

:S

If you are going to use PDFs (and they're not a terrible format), please warn your visitors that they're opening a PDF. It tends to slow browsers when Acrobat has to open.

The layout/feel is good.... and a cool idea, the fact that you're letting others review products.

a suggestion... its risky... but it could work... why not a Wikipedia style thing (not using wiki html) but where multiple people can write a review (the risk is that windows fanboys could end up trying to bash a product they've never used)... But if you give sufficient warnings, require an account to contribute, place limits, restrictions and ban stupid people it could be awesome.

Because multiple people will have had different experiences with mac products- no single review is sufficient for someone trying to work out if a product is for them, they want to know ALL about the product... there could be a section for criticisms, a section for praises....and the most important part would be a vote/poll at the end, to give accurate concensus on the "hotness" of a product.

^but that would be a lot on your behalf to create... but if done right, it could make your review site something EXTRAORDINARY... (at the moment I rate it Great).

We just added a "Submit your own review" forum a few days ago, users can submit stuff through that and we edit it to match our default layout and then add it to our magazine.
