Pro's and Con's of your job

This isn't a I love/hate my job thread.

this is a what parts you like and hate about your job that come with it regardless.

mine would be

I dislike

  • when drunks come in
  • when theifs come in
  • when people come in only wanting things cheaper
  • rude customers
  • children lacking disopline
  • not been paid

I like

  • the european ladys :D well most of them
  • the nice customers
  • the free cake the old old old mangeress bakes for us :D
  • my lunch is paid for
  • first dis on the nice donations no one else understands
  • always getting the computer stuff shoved into my hands
  • when i was working in the other shops the volunteers thought i was paid and didn't want me to leave

I work in a charity shop, and ahve for about 3 years in febuary.

we get a LOT of nut cases come in and a lot of thiefs.

just wondering what you guys/gals like about your jobs

Stuff I dislike about my job.

The hours, I don't work late, but I liked to have more time with my family.

Stuff I like

I love the fact I get free Sky Tv, with a skyplus box.

I get free broadband, at home and work.

The nutters I work with, make it worth while coming to work.

Pros: I don't have a job.

Cons: I've been trying to get a job for two months now. (seriously anything, Someone else got chosen over me for pushing shopping carts.)

Not working at the moment but, when I was these were the things:

Likes:

  • the people I worked with
  • expense account
  • self-directed/make my own decisions & policies
  • spending someone else's money
  • interaction with suppliers/their reps
  • healthy balance between office, warehouse, and stores

Dislikes:

  • Couldn't abuse my expense account since I was in charge of purchasing
  • Saving my employers thousands/millions and not getting compensated properly
  • there's probably more but, those were the two biggies

that same thing happened to me.. and i had to walk 10 miles home too, as the buses were every hour by the time i left the place.. gah!

plus the people i work with are either nutters or arn't.. and if they arn't then i have to be

Likes:

-The paycheck

-The hours are great

-Toys (computers) to play with

-Systems to hack... errm test

-Most of the people are pretty cool to work with

Dislikes:

-Getting called in the middle of the frikkin night because some moron can't think for himself.

-Getting called 5 times in the middle of the night by some moron who doesn't know what voicemail is or how to use it. (I don't stay up all night waiting for people to call me, nor do I sleep so light that I can answer my phone the instant it rings. :slant: )

-Reports... filing out lots and lots of reports.

-Meetings... the old joke of having meetings about meetings.... it's not a joke here. We actually do that.
