Converting DVD movies for an iPod

hi all

i recently got an iPod, try to put couple of dvd movies in it....i thought the whole process is just drag&drop,

then after doing some searching found out that i have to convert it to MP4 and resolution in order to play in iPod. Can someone explain to me abit detail how to do it, any applications that i could use? or iTunes would

do the job? much appreciated.

i'm desperate to get this done, please help!

Try Clone DVD Mobile, it's a great program that does all the work for you. It'll compress an entire movie to 200MB or so, this of course depends on the settings you use.

It's available through Sly Soft (Google it), they give you an option for a free try out before you buy.

I use both Videora and PQDVD (http://www.pqdvd.com/).

I tend to prefer PQ and it cost about $25.00 when I originally purchased it. Like Videora it is fully configurable.

You can select bigger screen sizes for iPod to TV output and it also has various audio profiles

Hehe, yeah, that's all been me.

Sometimes I don't feel like posting, especially if it might cause an old topic to be bumped :P.

But yeah, even before I came back (took a little break last week), I'd been retitling threads to clarify them, without posting to say that I'd done so.

I want to make sure that my post count competition with Unbe is completely fair :P.

P.S: Hope you guys don't mind. I was wondering if anyone had noticed.

For windows the best program, in my opinion, is magic DVD Ripper.

I use winavi converter to Ipod..Just open winavi select DVD to ipod and select DVD in disk in your drive and select the folder to where you want it and convert it there. this take a little time .Then when done converting I open Itune and movie folder to where you put the movie and drag and drop over in Movies on your ipod. This is real easy... do a search for winavi and go to home page...Hope this helps.

if only DVD piracy was easy as drag n drop lol.

Theres this little thing called copyright unfortunately. One must wonder why CD ripping is legal. hmm...
