New AirPort

I thinking on buying a AirPort Extreme Base Station,but I don't understand how to hook it up to a cable modem? Do I even need Cable Modem too hook to the Airport, and what is the best cable modem out there right now? I have a little understanding of it, I plug a ethernet cable into the WAN port of the AirPort and plug the other end to a cable Modem is that right and then if I want to use a Laptop I need a Airport card or something I don't know whats it call exactly? So if someone can tell me this is the right way or not?

Yes you will need a cable modem or some other connection to the internets.

You plug your internet connection into the WAN port and then you can either use the wireless connection or plug a network cable from your laptop to a LAN port on the AirPort.
