CPU Usage question

Hi

I tried the forum-search, but did not found a fix for my problem.

I´m using avedesk 1.3 with avescripter and sysstats installed, os is XP with SP2.

Every CPU-meter i´m trying shows me 100% usage.

I configured it this way:

- Process->Processor Time %-> _TOTAL

...but the result is: 100%. If there is any activity, the meter goes down to 97 or lower, and goes up to 100% again.

I´m using the BlisterPack cpu-meter. The user-time % is showing correct values.

This is configured:

-Process->User Time %-> _TOTAL.

I tried the posted registry-fix, but no result.

sounds like a hardware problem to me

is it showing 100 percent of your total cpu usage or 100 precent of what is being used (if you understand)

I had a similar problem a while back where the cpu was constantly running at 60 percent or higher, I had no clue what it was so I disassembled my entire computer and reassembled it at that solved the problem

try using a prgram lie avedesk or the Yahoo widget engine and see if that helps

I dont know what else to say

Hi

Thank you for reply.

I´m sure this worked yesterday alright. Until avedesk crashed (my fault).

What could have happend? I replaced the config file several times, and reconfigured the cpu-meter; no success....

Don´t know if it´s an hardware-problem. Taskmanager shows correct value, and that in the normal range.

Hi

I´ve got an idea how to fix this:

monitoring process "idle" will give me a correct value. Total processor-time will be 100-idle. But how can i do this in the config-file?

This is the syntax:

[meter-0]

Counters-0=Prozess(Idle)Prozessorzeit (%)

Counters-Count=1

Name=Processor Time %

Scale=1

TimerInterval=1

Type=PDHMeter Class

Anyone knows what to change?

Hi

...thanx for the high count of replies....i fixed it....

4 days experience in avedesk and -scripter; made a .vbs file to convert the value.
