A handful of Issues

OK, i guess i will have to do this. I'm having so many problems.

Let's go back a couple of days.

I came home from school and my mom tells me theres something on my computer in my room. You can read all about it in this thread. Now, i looked it up at Microsoft, and they didn't even have it. I decided to Google it and i read that someone had this problem too, and they ended up not being able to use their Windows XP Default theme. Contrary to these results, i had no issues and my computer seemed to run fine.

Yesterday, i had a prompt that Windows had an update for Windows XP Framework 2.0 .NET or something like that. Now, i had gotten this prompt before, but everytime i seemed to install it, I'd be unsuccessful and the installation would fail. Up until yesterday, that is. So i restarted my computer, and then got off it for the rest of the day. This morning i went on my computer, it seemed fine for the first 2 hours or so, and then i noticed, it was running a tad slow. So i did a virus scan with my norton 2005, and it came up clean. Windows Defender was also running. I also was presented with two new updates: another security thing for Microsoft Framework, and a security update for Microsoft Virtual Machine. I haven't installed them yet. I then went to my public folder, because my brother had put some icons and what not in it for me. As i went there and upacked 'em, i noticed that while in thumbnail mode, it would not display the little preview it usually does (on some of the icons). I went to properties>details>and it said "no information is available on this file" or something around those lines. Now in one of my other posts about this particular issue it has something to do with the Registry I'm guessing. The only thing i use the registry for is to change default icons of certain files i often see that are not available to change in 3rd party programs.

Now about a while later, i noticed that my GUI was looking a little weird. Then my toolbar with my mini/maxi/restore buttons would completely dissappear and my right click menu would be totally transperant. When it did re-appear, and I would want to exit the window, the window itself would freeze...with my mouse trapped inside. Even weirder, i could still move around with my mouse, but i wouldn't be able to see it. I decided to unload Windowblinds and to switch to Windows XP normal theme. Now with the default XP theme, the mouse-in-window freeze predicament does occur, but not as often. Sometimes i would have to refresh my desktop to get the toolbar off.

I don't know if its a smart decision to restart my computer until i get all of this rectified.

yea, all of my important stuff. It's seems to have resided a bit though. I think that my ****box was just adjusting to the update, hence causing me grief and frustration :).
