Aqua-Soft ForumsSo, you want to make your ugly Windows Interface look like the beautiful Mac OS X Tiger? Since installing Macintosh on Windows is illegal, this is a nice alternative.
Well, this guide will help you do it with the accompliance of third party programs, and some tweaks to Windows itself.
This guide will completely eliminate all traces of windows, besides the extensions.
If you have the option, get a mac, because on the outside, this guide can make your PC look like a Mac, but on the inside, its still Windows. Once you use a Mac, you will never want to go back to Windows again, and will be noticed even with these changes. These changes don’t add spotlight, color tagging, expose, etc., that you would find on a Mac, on account its STILL WINDOWS.
Now, if at anytime your Start Menu disapears you can press the WinKey to access the Menu.
Minimum Requirements
If your going to do this, be aware that not all computers can handle it.
Minimum-512MB RAM, 50GB HDD, 1.5GHz Processor
Recommended- 1GB RAM+, 150GB HDD+, 2.66Ghz Processor+
-If you have a lower RAM module, you will find that running these apps can slow down your computer-a lot.
Also, they can be ramhogs if you have 256MB of RAM or less…
-Be careful that over running your RAM drive could result in a crash, and may have to result to buying a OS and get new ram… so don’t go below the minimum requirements.

ObjectDock
Objectdock is a fantastic application for creating a replica Dock. You can download Mac OS X Panther Icons to give it that special touch. Extract them to your Objectdock folder which is usually located within your Stardock folder (My Computer> Local Disk (C > Program Files> Stardock> Objectdock. The free version of ObjectDock is all you need to re-create the Mac OS X Dock. Although the Plus version includes a lot of extra and cool features, this is a must have when trying to make Windows look and perform like a Mac. Be aware that a theme is customizeable to make it look like you want it, as it may have unecisarry things on it, such as media players on the bar, which isnt on the Finder bar for the mac, so you can simply remove it. Also, make sure all the system links such as Shutdown, etc are working, and that you need to make sure they are set to use system commands, not shortcuts to programs you don’t even have.

ObjectBar 1.6
Objectbar is a fantastic program and has a lot of capabilities, my personal favorite is being about to create a replica Finder bar. The Finder bar is the taskbar-like bar located at the top on Mac OS X, it also replaces the Menu bar in Windows.
Yahoo! Widget Engine ("Konfabulator")
In my opinion it is the best program for Widget's out there. Close to Mac’s Dashboard; It is incredibly easy to use, using fantastic looking widgets,featuring one of the best widget libraries on the internet. Extremely fast, it makes your desktop look to good for words.
WindowFX
WindowFX is the program which is best known for it's ability to add Shadows around your Windows. It also can do a lot more including animations, transitions, and more. Even if your just using it for Shadows I suggest you give it a try, it's another one of those must haves when trying to make Windows look like Mac OS X.
Trillian
Trillian itself is a very useful program as it combines all the major chat programs into one easy to use program. The main reason I use Trillian is so that I can use the iChat skin made by Daniel Lapointe (Danimator). It's the closest thing to the real iChat you can get on Windows. When the trillian skins are added, you should be able to just go to prefrences and set the skin and restart trillian, otherwise, go to your trillian folder and make sure the skin folder is by itself, not in another folder. To get skins, theres a page on devientart by daminator ( sorry if wrong spelling ) that you can download to make Trillian look like iChatAV from Macintosh.
Windowblinds 4.6
NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH LOW RAM. BE SURE THAT YOU MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROGRAM TO NOT CRASH YOUR COMPUTER!!!
This program is used to skin the Windows Theme to look like anything you want. Download the Mac OS X skins form www.studiotwentyeight.com
-We would recommend 4.6 instead of 5.01 or 5.1 because unlike them, 4.6 doesn’t expire if you don’t want to buy it. But, if you want 5.01 or 5.1, buy it, go right ahead,and it will work as it would in 4.6.
-The unregistered version does have some cutbacks though. It will not use PerPixel Skinning, and will not skin your scrollbars and progress bars.
Some recommended skins for windowblinds are: Mac OS X Jaguar, Mac OS X Panther, Mac OS X Tiger, Windows Longhorn. Its best to have all of these skins to have a nice inventory of Mac Skins, and a cool Windows one too!
Visual Styles
.msstyles are an alternative to Windowblinds Skins (.wba), ehich is a good idea if you have lower RAM. They do have drawbacks though. Visual Styles still have the glyphs on the left and no roll-up butoon.
Flyakite OS X 3.5 (osx.portraitofakite.com)
This porgram, made by Chris Kite, gives you the basics to start off your Pc emulation. This will edit your shell32.dll file, switching all of your Windows icons with Mac OS X Tiger standard ones.
-this will give you the basics to your PC transformation, this is critical to get!
Youll need the following from this-
Boot Skin (replaces windows boot screen with the Mac OS X boot screen lifted from Tiger), Logon Screen ( replaces the Windows Logon Screen with the one that was lifted from Tiger), Wallpaper (Mac OS X default wallpaper), skins ( for whatever you want them for), system files (icons for every system file), cursors (mac os x cursor theme), icemans sound scheme (sound scheme lifted from jaguar. It is the only one in existance, but its better than nothing), tiger visual style (windowblinds needed, installs the Tiger Windowblinds Theme that has fully functional rollup buttons and caption buttons, available to be set for the right side or the left. Kudos to KoL and Steve Griener)
Also, you can set up your Outlook Express to look like Mail for Mac, just install it under the skin section.
-Note that yahoo accounts cant be used with Outlook Express unless you purchase a MailPlus subscription.
Also, another good program is Thunderbird, from Mozilla. This can also be skinned to look exactly like Mail from OSX.
You can do this manually, skinning Thunderbird, but with WindowBlinds, set it up as a per application, and use your Mac OS X Tiger skin.

Firefox
Firefox from mozilla is the best way to get a Macintsoh’s Safari clone.
Get version 2.0, then google "iFox" and get the latest iFox skin. Now you have the best 2.0 emulation of Safari.
iTunes for Windows
Pretty Much Self Explanatory, get iTunes if you have an iPod, or just wnat a cool OS X based Media Player.
Quicktime
A media player that integrates itself into itunes and allows you to play quicktime files
(included with iTunes)
This was relatively easy, and you now have a relativly sweet looking MacPC!
