[release] iCalet Rainlendar Skins+

Hi all,

The new iCalet skins, based on tolbertn's miCal skin, are ready for release.

I did Brushed Aqua/Blue and Brushed Graphite versions.

One will notice that these skins do not have traffic lights on them, as they would have been nonfunctional and also as there are various Visual Styles and Windows Blinds themes that one may want to use them with, I felt it was best not to place them on the skin. This frees the user to add their own, if they like.

I will up them to an appropriate site within the hour.

I forgot to mention that these skins require Rainlendar v.15+

thanks grusic this skin looks really nice

keep up the nice work

----------------------------------

i have a question yo said to get the version 1.5+

i went to the rainlendar project page and got the latest version

which is .16, in addition when i try to load up iCalet , rainlendar freezes up

#41764

Sorry, I have modified the post. I was refering to v.15+

As for the freezing up, about the only thing I can figure maybe that the skin.ini is using an absolute path for the images as opposed to a relative one(I'll fix it shortly) and your install folder is something other then c:\program files\rainlendar.

Is that the case?

Also, please be sure that the LucidiaMAC font is installed first.

Anyone else experiencing any problems?

And thanks for the compliment.

Bling!

Title your thread correctly next time.

#41774

Sone: Please works well with me, commands don't.

It looks as if you and I are going to continue to clash.

hi....

nice rendition Grusic...

the problem is common with rainlendar skins....to solve;

1 - rename "skin.ini" to "iCalet"----" (use either Aqua or Graphite).ini" (proper name of skin)

2 - place the entire contents of the un-zipped file into a folder called "iCalet"----"(use either aqua or Graphite)" (the proper name of the skin... exactly the same name of the ini file)

3- place the "iCalet"----" folder into the skin directory i.e. ...C:\wherever\wherever\Rainlendar\Skins\ (where path "wherever" is "whatever" on your computer...)

4 - make sure the font included is un-zipped and inserted in your font directory.

5 - in the newly re-named "iCalet"----".ini" file ...

a ) change the line...; [backgroundBitmapName=C:\ProgramFiles\Rainlendar\Skins\iCalet-Aqua_Blue\bg.png]

to this ...; [backgroundBitmapName=bg.png]

B ) change the line...; [TodayBitmapName=C:\ProgramFiles\Rainlendar\Skins\iCalet-Aqua_Blue\today.png]

to this ...; [TodayBitmapName=today.png]

save the .ini and start up rainlendar... right click the program anywhere on the current skin... select "skin" and choose the "iCalet" skin.

that's it! Enjoy!

see the readme to integrate the calendar into your iCal docklet of your favorite dock, and enjoy :)

once again... thanks for the re-make... looks very nice! tolbertn

um...WHY!?! You could always open it in PS or PSP and remove the shadow yourself.

That would be faster.

[jim] I was actually thinking of releasing a shadowless version as I realize that some people are not running the same shadow effect as myself in WindowsFX or Y'z Shadow.

I will post an update within a day or so that includes both a shadowed and shadowless version.

/me thinks to himself, Damn it, I knew was going to have to support this thing when I released it! *groan*

well, i followed the instructions, let rainlendar startup "hidden" but everytime when i click the shortcut on my dock, i'll get the error

"rainlendar is not running.

Unable to set the !bang to it."

Anyone known with this kind of problem.

btw, rainlendar is hidden, so i won't be able to change anything in my settings, or see the program at all.

#42187

DraiC: I personally don't link Rainlendar to the dock myself as I found it caused me too many problems.

I included those instructions out of respect to tolbertn's original release.

To unhide Rainlendar, please do the following:

open Task Manager, Ctrl+Alt+Delete works for this

find all running instances of Rainlendar.exe and terminate them

goto the installed Rainlendar folder and edit Rainlendar.ini

where it displays "StartHidden=1" change it to "StartHidden=0"

Close and save Rainlendar.ini then restart Rainlendar.exe

Rainlendar when now start visible on the desktop
