Help Wanted: New 'aqua' Website

Hey Everyone,

I recently started to design a new website (tentatively titled 'AquaLinks') that I want to be the "Yahoo!" of Aqua Emulation sites. The purpose of it is to provide a directory and springboard page to all the Aqua emulation sites and files out there. The idea came to me when I thought of how spread out all the different resources for emulating OS X are, and how long it takes just to find one particular piece of information or a certain file, because of all the webpages that must be navigated through to find it. I intend to do make this site the most complete resource for all things aqua related, including websites, files, tutorials ect. and to make the site very clean and fast by implementing a database so adding, removing, modifying, catagorizing, sorting, searching and displaying the links is as efficient as possible.

In order to acheive this goal, however I realized I would need some help, not only in collecting and inputting all these resources, but also with designing the site itself, as well as imaging editing.

So if you think you could help out in any of the following areas (as well as any I fail to mention): web design and HTML, database creation and implementation, image editing and creation, and resource collecting, either PM me or email me at bill@hvc.rr.com.

Thank you in advance :D

P.S. I currently do not have web hosting (and can't really pay for any), so if you or someone you know would be able to host me, or know of a really great free host, please contact me! Thanks!

You dont want a free host - it sounds nice, but you'll end up with nothing but headaches. You either want a website or you want a website that will have major downtime.

If you want a website, you need to contact Rich at Contrast Hosting (Ive got his contact info). He has packages starting at $5 a month, and they are extremely generous with bandwidth and storage, probably much more than a new site like the one your proposing needs. Rich has proven his stability and reliability over the past year, and he is amazingly quick in handling any problems that might arise.

He hosts Aqua-Soft, Design Technika, TwistedCPU, HammerheadTech, Y/C's Sosumi and quite a few other sites.

Go with Rich, its the smart move to make.

Thank you for your replies, everyone.

@Insomiac: I will definately contact you for some help with the graphics once I get the site laid out the way I want.

@DeadZombie: Sounds like a pretty good deal. It definately seems to have great reliability as I have yet to find aqua-soft down. Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah, Aqua-Soft is never down.

Maybe you should look at some other hosts as well.
