Best 2.1 / 2.0 speaker system

I am looking for a very very decent set of speakers for my comp.

The current 5.1 set I have now drives me crazy with all the wires, so I am looking for some top of the line 2.1 (preferably) or 2.0 speakers

any opinions or personal experiences are welcome

price is really no obstacle unless it is over $300

I got the JBL Creature speakers for my room. They are 2.1. I have the first generation (white), they look stylish and sound excellent. And by the looks of it, the second generation are even better.

2.0 is what it says, 2 speakers... 2.1 is 2 speakers plus sub-woofer.

I would go for a 2.1 any day over a 2.0 having that sub gives far more dimension to the sound.

I have a logitech 2.1 setup I use headphones most of them time though so it isnt as important for me, for the price I can't complain (under $50).

The JBL have excellent sound though so I would recommend them over most.

Logitech Z2300 is great, i've got a set myself. I dont know if they're catogorized as "top of the line". They do have a phaseplug and the sound is crystal clear and the sub thumps..
