Painted iBook

I know its not software related, but had to share my efforts over the past few months.

Bought an iBook for the Girl friend a couple of months back for christmas, got it cheap and does her fine for surfing the web and messing with her iPod.

After upgrading RAM and installing and Airport Card I wasn't finished, I had seen a mod around the net where someone had painted their iBook and was curious how difficult it might be.... Sooo I had a go and here are the results.

Its very pain staking work, but looks very cool.

Here is a link to how to do it, this guy although I am not so keen on his final result his guide for doing it is nice and has some good step by step photos.

N1, did she like it?

Yeah very happy with it... also stops her dissapearing with mine :P

Outstanding! I'd like my MacBook painted in some metallic blue or pearly :)

#435548

looks cool but no way i would even attempt that.....

Neat mod, too bad it doesn't work on the newer iBooks or Mac Books.

Apple doesn't use the clear shells anymore.

Yeah it HAS to be Translucent casing (when you look at the edge of the case head on the edges are clear.

Its a shame really cause they do look mint in other colours.

The only place I know you can get a Pro job done on new Apple gear is COLORWARE
