Hey every1, im having a bit of a problem... every day or so my comp gets a stop error that a device installed on my computer is causing it to have an error...and i have no idea what it is. i have no iPod usually attached at the time, and i have no malicious software (as far as my Norton Anti Virus knows) so...does anyone know what the problem is???

-Windows XP SP2
-3GB RAM
-100GB HD
-Two users (if that means anything.)

one of your devices (video, , modem, ethernet, etc) is bad or has a corrupted driver. best way to troubleshoot these errors is to remove as many devices as possible and boot with just hard drive, ram (use onboard video if possible), keyboard and mouse. if booting is successful, add the cards back in one at a time until you find the culprit. uninstall and reinstall the driver for that device. if that doesn't work, you may need a new one.
alternate method: at boot up, press f8 and boot using the logging method. sometimes, you get lucky and booting will crap out. you can then view bootlog.txt and the last device listed will be the one windows can't load.
another thing to try: go to all your manufacturers' websites and make sure you have the latest drivers for everything. you might wanna reinstall them even if you have the latest, just to be sure. good luck!
well, i really dont want to have to take my computer apart, but i think its my internet cable modem (videotron for those of you who live in canada) and umm thats something i dont really want to mess around with (partly because i have no idea what i'll be doing), but anyways. ill tell my dad and let him take care of it. thx for your help shmengie 
well, you can always try the f8 method first. 
yea but...these are things that i dont want to mess around with. i have some really important stuff on my windows comp which i dont want to risk getting lost...
do you get any "blue screen" error message? If you get any error message, you must see some information there. For example, you can see which device giving an error!
Look at "Control Panel System Advanced Startup and Recovery"
there is a configuration options "Automatically Restart", if that option checked, remove the check option. After that, next problem will come blue screen.
