Just a few questions regarding icons

1) How do people change icons? Well, I use Stardock's icon packager but I noticed many people release PNG files, so do people go about and change every icon individually to their liking? Doesn't that take time?

2) What do people use for their objectbar? Once again I use stardocks, is there an easy way to change all the icons at once or for it to resemble your windows icons or do you have to once again manually change it all. (different program maybe?)

thx

Yes, some of us do change individual icons, the pngs can be converted with Rimmer's Iconstructor free of charge or with AveIconifier, search the forum and you'll find links to both.

I don't think there is an easy way to change all the icons in objectbar at once, don' take my word though cause i rarely use object bar. Are you perhaps confusing objectbar with with objectdock?

Yes, I meant objectdock. I've been searching. Trying to redo my whole desktop because I'm trying to slack off from studying for finals. =] Anyways. I was looking into systray customizing and I found reshacker, any way better then that?

Not particularly, have fun with it and BACK UP YOUR APPS!

lol, I've been saving all my icons and stuff onto my SD card. I think I should move the files to a better place =], messing with ResHack seems complicated.

#434033

it is. u shouldnt mess with reshacker unless you rly know how to use it because it could severly damage your comp

Just use it on apps and not system files at first.... that'll work beautifully. You'll learn both how to use it and how to back up if you screw up.

There Is A Method That Works Fine For Me. My Os Is Xp Pro. You Need Stardock Icon Packager. It Is A Bit Tedious But The Only Thing You Have To Do Is To Create A Folder Where All The Icons You Want To Change And Icon Packager Are Unable To Change Are Located. Right Click On The Original Icon On Your Desktop Or Start Menu And Choose The Icon In The New Folder You Have Created. You Can Do It With Almost Any Icon In Your System. Apply The Theme In Icon Packager And "voila" Every Icon Is Changed. Even If You Use Object Dock, Unload And Reload It And You Will See Your New Icons.

In This Way You Can Create Any Collection You Want. I Think This May Help.

You have to excuse bh2. Ever since the accident, he haven't been able to cope with capital letters. He's normally quite the chap.
