i been wondering about the apple refurb products myself. hell, they're refurb'd by apple and i think they carry the standard warranty. go for it. let me know how it works out!
I have purchased two 15" macbook pros, one 30 gig ipod, and one 13" macbook. all have been great machines. and yes they carry the same waranty. well worth the purchase I saved 500 on my macbook pro.
So is it a good deal? Also, what's the difference between the new iMac and an iMac G5 Superdrive?
The iMac G5 Has the IBM PowerPC G5 Processor
The iMac (presumably intel) Will have an Intel processor.
If choosing between the two, I would go with the Intel one as the G5 is now dated in comparison, and has less options in terms of what systems you can run on it.
The thing about the refurb store is you need to be patient, not everything on there is a total bargain, check it regularly if your after something specific, don't get over excited at the first thing you see that basically only has a 10% discount.
But yes the quality and warranty is as good as a new Apple item, although some items may have slight flaws, scratches, dents or bumps. Remember its second hand gear mostly.

I wouldn't buy it even though the price seems really appealing. As stated above, this iMac has a PowerPC G5, which is now outdated and very slow compared to the new intel processor found on current iMacs. And also you can't run Windows on this iMac G5..
