Playback problem with iTunes 7.2 (Windows)

I upgraded to the new iTunes 7.2 and was glad at the new looks and album cover features. It ran fine until I began to feel jerky skips when mp3 tracks are played. I have tried reinstalling Windows, tried it on another laptop and the same problem persists. I have notified Apple about two weeks back and there has been no change since. Can I solve this problem without compromising the sound quality?

By the way, does anyone have the multiplugin for iTunes 6.0.5 and if its allowed can you provide a download link if you have? Thank you.

I was having the same issue and this fixed it. Needed to reboot for it to kick in, but problem's solved.
