Changing Windows Explorer toolbar/buttons

I'm looking to resHack the bitmap toolbar image for windows explorer, but all I've found so far was (214 : 1033) and (215 : 1033) in ...system32shell32.dll

I've tried replacing that file, but it doesn't change anything.

I've searched, and i've found styler, windows blind, flyakite, etc... which I all know can change the toolbar, but I hate having thirdparty apps managing/changing files on my computer.

Does anybody know where, or if I can change the buttons?

Thanks.

-- oh, and I know this is probably unlikely, but is there any way I can add a button to the explorer bar that toggles the 'show hidden folders'?

styler

If you've looked at my original post, I mentioned styler, and said I wasn't looking for third party apps. In addition, it lacks in minor features, and its overkill for a small change I want to make to the bitmap. After waiting around with no response, I tried it, and uninstalled it immediately.. no offense to the creator.

thanks for replying though. Does anybody know what file contains the images for the toolbar?

What did you use to replace the dll?

How you tried this?

ResHacker is the tool and you need to hack the windows/system32/shell32.dll -> bitmap 204, 205, 206, 207, 214, 215, 216, 217.

if i understand correctly what you mean :)
