hmm.... call me old fashioned but I too am hanging out for the graphically dripping first person shooters.
I think the Wii (controller etc) is a great innovative idea (except for all the smashed TV's that have come with it....
but seriously Super Smash Bros? Mario? Zelda?.... I think I've grown past that kiddish level. and dont call me a nintendo basher, I've had a super nes (loved the donkey kong games
) , N64 (goldeneye, Mario Kart, etc) and for a short while the gamecube till I realised the games were somewhat limited.
But I did have a go of Wii Sports the other day and I am somewhat hooked on that.
So yeah Im currently playing Half Life 2, which is amazing graphically, physics and to a degree gameplay but after a while not that fun and a little drawn out and boring... but the storyline seems interesting which is keeping me from quiting.
Crysis looks amazing, so i'll probably give that a go. (on my great little Macbook Pro might I add...)
PS3 and 360... well I have an Xbox and am a Halo fan, so i'll see how good H3 is before buying... and If the graphics are simply amazing on the PS3 (due to hardware I think in time they should be able to pull more out of it) I might fork out the $$$...
Adding Lost Planet and a xbox360 to my list. I got to try out a demo of it recently, and I throughly enjoyed it.

Half Life 2 isn't the funnest to replay actually, I still prefer one more.
Also when you beat it, go for the mods Mistake of Pythagoras (holy.. I spelled it right first time) and Coastline to Atmosphere. BUT above all get Minerva, its the best single player half life 2 mod bar none.

Episode 1? or Half life 1?
I remember playing HL1 yonky donkeys ago... I ended up getting stuck at some door and couldnt get past it so I quit.
But I will definately be trying Half Life Episode 1 (and 2 when it comes out next year), and certainly some of those mods... I think I might try the matrix one, as I am quite a fan of the movies and 'bullet time', and the halflife2 engine doing that sorta stuff could be wicked.
Oooo..
Command and Conquer 3 and Unreal Tournament 2007 look hot... Doubt my computer can handle them though..
I'm looking forward to the Operation Flashpoint sequel Armed Assault in english. (It has been released in czech and german.) Should arrive Q1 2007. Nice game if you haven't tried it...
Silent Hill 5 keeps me ticking day by day by day by day...
NINTENDO WII !!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH MAN I NEED A WII !!! I will sell anything for a wii (exept my precious macbook pro) ![]()
Halo 3, SSBM, uh, and some late '06 games Like NSFMW:Carbon, Tony Hawk, and some others.
space invaders.
Pong.
Just realiezed that there's a few games out I want: Rainbow Six Vegas, and Wii Sports w/ a Wii
I'm looking forward to:
Portal
Unreal Tournament 2007
Command & Conquer 3
I agree with everyone who loves Half Life 1, it is an amazing game. I'm currently playing the Opposing Force expansion; I love how Valve and Gearbox were able to bring two additional perspectives to the Black Mesa incident. I've played some of HL2 on xbox, and I don't like it as much as the original; it doesn't have as good of a story as the original.
Waaaaitt, when is Spore coming out?

Q: Did you get the gravity gun? Until that thing appears HL2 was just HL1 with pretty graphics and in Europe.
I was disappointed by the story at first too, But then I realized that the first game didn't have much of a story either.
It can be summed up quite easily.
1. Aliens appear.
2. Marines appear.
3. You try not to die by both.
4. Kill alien overlord, and cause a reaction that summons the villains of the sequel.
The second game is:
1. Earth is taken over.
2. You fight to stop the aliens.
3. Explosion happens, buy Episode 1 to find out what happens.
As you can see, Half Life 2 is only one point worse then Half Life 1. But they both still have 2-3 points more then most FPSs.

HL1 was revolutionary because it brought in a continuous story line with no cut scenes, where you are in control at all times. It had a phenominal physics engine for the time. It is a classic game. HL2 may be better in some ways, but I still like the original just because it changed the way that all FPSs are made.
