unicode fonts not showing in avetunes (for winamp)

First of all, many thanks to Andreas for the winamp support.

Anyways as the title suggest i can't seem to get the unicode characters to show. I'm using the DCtunes skin for avetunes. The skin has been modified to use the ホリデイMDJP02 font.

Ps refer to the screenshot below, i can get the characters to show fine in winamp tho. Anyone can help? Many thanks!

winamp's api is not unicode friendly.
