i'm not sure whether i've seen this before...it came cross my mind that, is there any app
that could make a desktop recycle bin effect like for an example a plant
like this 
it starts up just a tiny tree, the more trash u dump in the tree keeps growing a little by little
untill it grows to a full plant, empty trash it goes back to where it started tiny "i meant a tree itself not a pot".
Cool!! But how to do that? I don't think it's easy, but give it a try, Developers ^^
this is an impressive suggestion though people have only been capable of removing it from the desktop, renaming it, changing it's icons 
I think there's a AVI deep inside the WINDOWS folder that contains this animation
Actually it shouldn't be too difficult to create. The script could look up the capacity and then based on certain percentages, you could either use several pre-created pngs with graphics ranging from small plant all the way to the full growth. A more elaborate version could make the use of fractals to produce natural growth which is calculated with every dropping of items into the trash. Don't wait for me to do it though... still got other unfinished business.

i think there was something similar to that in Windows ME...and it definitely wasn't an AVI. I'm pretty sure it came with one of their themes.
This sounds sweet, I would definately use it!!
Are there already finished pngs / animations? It would be easier for programmers to decide "ok i just do it" if it wouldnt be associated with to much work (searching or graphic-editing)
What about a tree that lost its leaves, or a christmas tree that got slowly decerated? That would be christmas-y and holiday like.

i've already thought of that, the whole plant grow would fit to everyone around the world.
P.S : Come on everyone leave some comments, the more comment we have the more attention we're gonna get from Developers and graphic designers.
And we will have this thing in a very near future
There's a freeware 3D program called PlantStudio. Not very realistic but, could help someone out.
This would be a cool effect, if someone could pull it off.
I'm think different from everyone else, I'd like to see a glass, full to start with then empty, bit like a beer glass or wine, or water if that's your tipple too.

I believe in AveDesk or Yahoo Widgets there are meters to tell how full your harddrive or recycle bin is... and if you could like change the animation then it would probably work.
An even better idea is to *gasp!* start with an empty bin, and gradually build up. 
It's kinda freaky when I delete one file and the bin's overflowing, haha.

The paper in the trash can builds up. Only takes two or three files to make the can look full.
yeah, but there are , I think only 2 different looks aof the bin: An empty and a full one. You can't compare that to the slowly growig plant in this case, if you understand me
Actualy, there are three images that are used. Explorer.exe only has two of them , imageres.dll has all three.
But I like the idea of a multi image recycle bin.
