skinning miranda im

Well I've got just about every program I need for my osx emulation but I've been trying to configure this miranda im thing for a very long time now. I've been trying 2 skins over and over with different tutorials and different miranda im versions but it just won't work at all...

If somebody can help me or go through remote assistance you can add me at xbox.bigafair@gmail.com and if you are willing to add me to help me out can you post that you will in the topic please...

Or posting / uploading a pre-skinned miranda im install / folder would also be great.

Okay here you are:

1. Install miranda

2. Download modern contact list plug-in here http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...iewfile&id=2103

3. Download a skin here (choose one that suites your needs):

unzip it and put it in your skin folder

4. In miranda go to Options/Customize/Skin load the skin you just unzipped and everything should work fine.

5. Now you are to install Scriver which can be downloaded here: http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...iewfile&id=1885

5.1. For the chat window you might want to install IEView (just put the dll-file in the mirandaplugins folder) which you can download here:

6. Download a template from here:

http://addons.miranda-im.org/index.php?action=display&id=83

and put it into a folder of your choice (e.g.: mirandacss)

7. In miranda go to Options/Message Sessions/IEView

Here go to Message Log, choose "Use templates" and enter the path where you unzipped the template in into the box below

8. Open a message box to see if the changes did take effect.

9.Done

Well I admit it's not a pretty good tutorial but this is basically it. If you have any questions, post em here or pm me. Also if I should mail you my folder post it here too and I'll see what I can do for you (setting up an extra install, customizing it etc, etc).

i can remember asking the very same questions in the miranda skinning guy and a nice guy called aleph helped me out by sending me his miranda and skins installed, thanks to him i can now skin my miranda successfully. That guide fossi wrote should help you alot!

im having major probs over here. im trying ot do this but the only thing i can get to work is changing the instant message window and that still doesnt come out right. there is an X where the other persons icon would be. im getting my skins from deviant art but when i try to apply them there wont come up in the miranda skinning. do i need to change file extentions or something??? please help.

the X sometimes happens when the person you are chatting with doesn't have an avatar click view > Avatar > Load local picture as Avatar on the message window might help.

you should unzip the files you downloaded from deviantart. the skinfile ends with .msf. This: http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...iewfile&id=2478 is what i use and it works for me.
