try stopping the explorer.exe process and then restarting it.

i did, every time i reboot my pc, problem happens again and again

Mine would do this once in a while. I think you should try unloading Wb's then reload and see what happens.

i know reloading wb would help.

but , do u mean i have to do it EVERYTIME i reboot my pc? i think it's kind of impossible

From what I know, that issue happens when using a cracked version of Windowblinds 5. Please Read this if your UI is black and painting slowly

#433460

True, Bebi_Bulma is right... are you using a cracked version of WB?

#433476

You guys are something else!!! Always so fast to make acusations. But .... if you are useing a cracked version that is why.

You should only have to unload WB once. Everything should be ok after that. This usually happenes to me only after switching alot of skins. I'm not sure about everytime you restart you PC.

Wasn't so much an accusation but just reporting a known cause for an error like that.

I've been using paid-for Windowblinds for over 2 years and never had that happen. An error I sometimes get when switching skins a lot is the start menu just not showing up, but I've never had the UI go black like that, especially everytime the program is loaded. But like the link I posted said, it's been pretty much confirmed that's a symptom of using cracked WB5. You get what you pay for.

If it is a legit version of WB, try submitting a support ticket.

I've had a similar problem. Like Bebi_Bulma, I've got a fully legit copy of Object Desktop (which includes WindowBlinds.

However, mine doesn't stay like that after startup..It may be like that for 30 seconds, just enough time for the video card to refresh the startup tray and then it is normal. I can't honestly say what causing your's to do that.

It could be a video card issue.

change the theme or visual style.

I had a problem similar to this, I had moved the whole theme folder and the next time I started up everything was black! (I couldnt see anything!) I had to start up in safe mode (which uses the windows classic VS) and apply a theme that was still intact.

chances are the theme has become corrupt, or a file has been removed that is needed to display this. If you can re-download the theme from MS or re-apply it if u r sure u have a full theme & its folders intact.

Levi, thanks for the tip. I had Kol's WB Vista skin weird out a couple of months ago. I've just got to track it down again...It's on some hard drive somewhere.

if you go to system information, theres a check mark that says "check this if you have corrupted taskbars and backgrounds" or something like that. i didnt check it cuz i dont want to harm anything on my comp but yea try that...
