If you don 't mind I'm going to rewrite my previous thread a little bit 
I found out what the problem was, Icon Packager somehow changed the basic icon files in XP (if that is possible). Now my question for the XP-experts under you is: which are those basic icon files? Especially where is kept what icon is used for a Word document and so on. So that I can replace them with those of a friend of mine...
In this thread its said that you have to hack shell32.dll
But don´t ask me I´ve just read it

The Word document icon and all other Word icons are in the file wordicon.exe, which is located in a hidden folders within
C:\windows\Installer
it will be in one of the folder with a CLSID name like
{00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}
Not completely necessary to use ResHack for this.
The File Type tab in Folder Options will work, you just need to know where the icon you want to use is.
