This guide is okay...
It needs to be more extensive. There are alot more things you should do if you want a complete XP to OS X transformation.

Firefox is alot better to skin and it comes out looking like Safari RSS more than Internet explorer. A good Mail program is Thunderbird by Mozilla. It can be skinned perfectly to look like mail.
Trillian is also not a good iChat clone. It can make the buddy list look like iChat but the message windows look nothing like iChat. I would suggest Miranda IM. It takes a little learning but after your done skinning you can make Miranda look like iChat or Adium, and it also gives you the option of skinning the message window so you will be able have the previously iChat only chat bubbles.
Nexplorer is also not the best finder replacement. I would suggest FindeXer to add the finder sidebar to your existing Explorer. If you are going to go that route I would also suggest Getting Styler with some OS X toolbars for styler.
Spotlight is available in XP. Although it is not perfect, it is a good clone. Macsearch is a good clone because it can be used with objectbar so when you press the spotlight button on the bar it will popup like in the real OS X.
I also prefer RKLauncher because it behaves more like the real dock than ObjectDock. If you do get RKLauncher I suggest you get the latest build 275 because it fixes alot of bugs from the 0.4 beta release.

what is the browser that you use in your ss? that is a nice brush skin.

The tutorial on smoothing fonts should also be included, smoothing Aquabase is pretty much critical in getting the fonts to look somewhat near to OS X fonts. Cleartype just don't cut it

It's always a good Idea to ask if your going to use a part of someones guide
You should also link to all the software.

I'm asking as my parents PC has a 256 mb, and my father is a big Mac fan - more so than me, even though I am; and I would love to make the PC look like a Mac.

whats with all these guides popping up....you guys do realise that when you make these guides they dont stay up to date for very long...plus its a tad confusing/annoying to someone new to modding when theyve got to scroll through three or more guides to get their PC how they want.....the best people to make a guide are the moderators as theyre the ones more experianced in all this

512 MB is more standard now, and that's what I'd recommend as a minimum requirement.

Hmm, I'm looking at your guide, and your thread was made in early January. There are word-for-word similarities, but his was posted first by several months. Care to explain?

yes, i would love to explain. you see, i had opened a forums of my own, www.iForum.tk, and at the time i had no knowledge of aqua-soft, and i guess it was leaked from my Forums. if you go to my site, you will find it....
and about the guy who posted it, he was a companion of mine who i knew for years, but he was banned from my site and i never saw or talked to him again....
what really makes me angry is that he didnt ask to repost it...
to make a long story short this is my guide, and this guy is a rulebreaker....(not saying that im an angel neither...)
